Petromagnetism in the solution of the problem of detailed stratigraphy of flysch deposits

The work demonstrates information potentialities of petromagnetism aimed to give argumentation of stratigraphical boundaries of fractional stratons in the upper cretaceous flysch of the Southern slope of the North-Western Caucasus. Changes of magnetic characteristics are described through the section. It is established that petromagnetical differentiation of flysch rock is more vivid with artificial parameters than with natural ones. However, differences in the composition and genesis of magnetic minerals make for the selection of lithomagnetic models with the most informative parametristics for each straton. Nevertheless, according to the data of the studies carried out it is possible to conduct petromagnetical zoning of the cross-section and correct the boundaries of fractional stratons.
