Localized oscillations in thin films with growing islands

The influence of localization waves on islands growing on a thin film is investigated. The film is modeled as a fluid layer covered by an inertial surface with variable density of mass and surface tension. Mathematically, the problem is reduced to the analysis of a system of nonlinear equations describing the growth of island nuclei and waves propagation in the films.
Conditions of the existence of trapped modes for the corresponding frequency-domain problem have been defined. It has been shown that long-duration wave localization near islands gives some contribution in the increase of the velocity of island growth.
