Dependence of activity of engineering-geological processes on petrophysical peculiarities of the flysch rocks

624.131.1Abstract
Petrographic structure and genetic types of the rocks of flysch cyclites of the North-Western Caucasus have been considered; their petrophysical characteristics have been given with the application of descriptive statistics. Lithological and petrophysical peculiarities of the structure of marl and argillaceous flysch sections have made it possible to draw main conclusions on the peculiarities of engineering-geological conditions of the Black Sea coast. It has been revealed that the most typical engineering-geological phenomenon of the Southern slope of the North-Western Caucasus is the deformation of artificial slopes caused by unstable position of the rocks forming the slopes. The size of talus fragments is determined by the power of cyclites, strength of flysch rocks and their bedding character.
