The work brings up the problem on determination of critical discharge of the water intake working in the nonuniform soil near to a basin with low-purity fluid. The water intake is fed by a stream of subsoil waters directed towards the basin with low-purity fluid. Low-purity and pure fluids are simulated by fluids of various viscosities. The problem stated is solved by the method of discrete singularities.
The work studies the impact of fluids viscosity on the interval of time, at the expiration of which the low-purity fluid reaches a contour of the water intake at various discharges of the water intake. The critical discharge of the water intake has been determined, at which pollutants do not get into the water intake. For example, sequential positions of the pollution boundary line during its advancing to the water intake have been developed for concrete values of discharge and fluids viscosities.
