Competitive analysis of voice quality in conventional digital radio communication systems

Abstract

Analysis of dependencies of objective measurement results on signal-to-noise ratio for various digital voice radio communication systems has been conducted for additive Gaussian white noise channel and Rayleigh fading channel. It is shown that the Bit Error Rate (BER) cannot be the only parameter to characterize the quality of voice communication in various channel conditions.
