Optimization of parameters of a turbine-type wind-power plant

Abstract

The work offers a scheme for the optimization of a turbine-type wind-power plant, which can be used in case that the wind direction is constant. The plant consists of a tube and a propeller with special blades installed inside the tube. The tube has a cross-section (diffuser) expanding with the flow direction. The propeller is set close to the wide section.
The work is aimed at obtaining the first approximation for the parameters of the wind-power plant and the circulating airflow.
The factor of energy-conversion efficiency serves as an optimization criterion for the propeller. The optimization of the diffuser lies in the increase of the velocity ratio in its exit section to the wind velocity with the given factor of the propeller energy-conversion efficiency.
